Interlaken Town Online Bill Pay

Interlaken Town uses the SmartPay system to collect payments for water billing, building permits, and additional General fund billings.
Payments are accepted through bank transfers from checking and savings accounts. The town DOES NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS. You'll need your bank's routing number and your account number as well as the Interlaken Town Invoice to complete your payment.
Accessing the SmartPay System
1. To open the SmartPay website, click this link:
2. From the website, click the PAY NOW button to make a quick payment. This is the easiest way to make a single payment. It is not necessary to create an account unless you want to store all your payments for future access. You will be given a receipt upon completion of your payment.
3. Fill out the SmartPay form as follows:

To Location - The correct payment location - listed on your invoice

Water Account - use to pay your annual water bill or other water related invoices

Building Fund - use to pay building permit fees

General Account - for other town invoices

Pay This Amount - Invoice amount - listed on your bill

​Lot Number - Your lot number - listed on your bill

Invoice Number - Your invoice number is listed on your bill

Payment Type - Select Bank - we DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARD payments

Account Type - Choose Checking or Savings

Name on Account - Name of bank account holder

Business Account - Check if it's a business account, not personal

Routing Number - Routing number for the bank account

Account Number - Account number for the bank account

Address - Address of account holder - don't forget to complete all fields

Email Address - Your email address to receive confirmation of payment

Confirm Email Address - Repeat the above entry

Register and Save Payment Information - Optional choice, if you want to create a login for future payments and keep track of all your payments

CONTINUE - Click to complete your payment or CANCEL to cancel the payment
4. A payment confirmation will appear when your payment has been accepted, and you'll receive a receipt via email.
Creating an Online Bill Pay Account
You can create a user account at any time to simplify making payments and track your payment history. This is entirely optional. You can always just use the PAY NOW> feature to pay a bill. Follow the links to create a user account. You do not need to fill out all the fields in the user account form. Just fill in the Secret Question and Secret Answer fields.

The first time you login in with your email, you'll have to click on Forgot username or password? in the login screen to establish a password. I know that's kind of weird, but that's how it works. The system uses the Email Address you entered in the bill pay form, and the Secret Question you entered but you can't enter a password until your 1st time logging in. Check your email for a link to establish your password. For the future logins, just enter your Email Address and that password.
